The state is on Tuesday, expected to provide evidence related to the minutes of a Bid Adjudication Committee when the case of the former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede and 21 co-accused continues in the Durban High Court.
The charges against the accused related to a R320-million waste removal tender.
During the testimony of retired official of the municipality’s Durban Solid Waste (DSW) unit, he confirmed co-signing over twenty contracts of refuse collection and street cleaning of several wards in Umlazi.
On Monday, the state was unable to produce the minutes in which the Bid Adjudication Committee set down the specifications for the contract that was to be advertised.
The defense requested the minutes that prompted the court to adjourn early.
